Seat Sponsorship Program

As part of the 2020-2021 Renovations to the Opera House, new seating is being installed in the auditorium.  In order to help offset this cost and provide funds for future renovations, the City of Abbeville is selling a limited amount of the current seats and allowing patrons to sponsor the new seats going in the theater with an engraving. (Please note sponsorship of a seat does not guarantee that seat to the sponsoring party for future performances)

The current seats will be sold for $150.  This price includes the sponsorship engraving onto a new seat as well.  Please note, there will be a limited supply of the current seats available which will be impacted by their condition upon removal.  The initial offering of seats for sale will consists of 50 seats.  This number may increase based on demand.  While the City will work to honor specific seat request, the City cannot guarantee the purchase of a specific seat.

If the condition of the seats upon removal was to prevent them from being utilized as a complete seat, the City will refund the $75 portion of the contribution or give the patron the option to accept the seat in parts.  Complete seats will be honored on a first come first serve basis.

Current seats are anticipated to be available for pickup in July 2021.

Patrons will also have the opportunity to sponsor a new seat through an engraving for $75.  If a patron or organization sponsors 30 or more seats at one time, this sponsorship per seat will be reduced to $50.

Selections for seat sponsorships will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

Interested Patrons may come by the Opera House during regular business hours to select the seat(s) they would like to sponsor and make payment.

*The City intends to begin accepting payments for this program on Monday February 22, 2021.
