Become an Opera House Patron! Benefits include: four tickets total to be redeemed at the show(s) of your choosing, name listed on program, social media shout outs, and name listed on the City website. (Open to individuals and businesses)

Tickets for these events can be purchased online using the link below or in person at the Opera House. Please contact the City Special Event Coordinator Emily Bledsoe for more information. 

Please note that refreshments at the Opera House are cash only. Refreshments include soda, water, beer, wine, as well as assorted chips and candy bars. Outside food and drink is prohibited. Lobby doors open one hour prior to showtimes. Theater doors open half an hour prior to showtimes. Unless otherwise stated, Abbeville Opera House Comedy shows are recommended for audiences 18 years of age and older. While no age restriction is in place, parents should be advised stand up comedy may contain some language and content inappropriate for children under 18. Parents are advised to use their discretion when bringing children younger than 18.

Due to popular demand, "The Funniest Man in America" hits the Abbeville stage. For 37 years, Gregory has been a staple of Southern and Midwestern comedy clubs, the sort of legend local comics tell each other about. Even as the mainstream industry has largely ignored him, Gregory plays to sold-out crowds across America drawn in by his brilliant stories and lack of swearing. We can’t achieve immortality but sometimes music can do that for us and that is certainly the case with Keep on the Sunnyside music and the original story of The Carter Family by Dr. Douglas Pote. The Carter Family is best known as the first family of country music. Arriving just as country radio was born. This story covers the lives of A.P. Carter, his wife Sara Carter and sister-in-law Maybelle Carter.  Their old time music and their life in the Clinch Mountains of Virginia and the historic Bristol Sessions. Featuring songs such as Will the circle be unbroken, Wildwood Flower, I’m Thinking Tonight of My Blue Ryes and My Clinch Mountain Home. The show features musicians from all over the upstate.

When Mick Ansley, a world famous rock guitarist, suffers severe injuries after falling from a mountain in South Carolina, he is found and cared for by a family of “hillbilly” musicians who live a simple life in a remote valley. During his convalescence, Mick is desperate to find his way back to civilization, but as he gets to know the Stafford family, who are preparing to celebrate their Old Christmas Homecoming, he begins to realize there is much more to living a happy and fulfilling life than pursuing wealth and fame.


2021 Shows

The Opera House has made the difficult decision to reschedule live music performances until 2021 in order to operate at half capacity and practice social distancing. Patrons who have already purchased tickets to these shows will have their tickets transferred and will be able receive a refund if so desired. The dates for Interstellar Echoes and Ropin’ the Wind will be announced soon.

He has appeared in films and has lent his distinctive voice to animated TV shows. But his first love, stand-up, remains his true one.

Since 2015 "Rockin’ The Night Away" has been touring the Southeastern United States and continues to grow Nationwide. In 2018 "Rockin’ the Night Away" was Voted the #1 Best Traveling Production Show in the Southeast by the CHMR Music Awards.
